Resolved Question: Do any of the major casinos in Las Vegas still use coin-operated slot machines?

On my recent trip to Vegas I noticed that nearly every the slot machines I saw were bill-or-credit slip operated, and only a minority still had tug handles. I miss the older style slots, the tug of the handle and the clash of coins in the payout trays---have they every gone away? Note---I know that some of the video poker games still have coin slots, but I'm talking about the traditional slot machines. Progress is every very well, but we're talking iconic Vegas memories here, folks. Anyone know?

Open Question: What level of comps can I expect with my level of video poker play in a Las Vegas Strip hotel?

I have been playing at a Station Casinos property but am getting bored with what they have to offer. I play video poker 8 hours per day for three days straight, with about $13,000 coin in per hour and thus about $100,000 coin in per day and $300,000 per 3-day trip. I haven't played on the Strip in a long time so I'm not sure what I'm worth to the big casinos. I'm looking for a free stay in a very nice suite, free fine dining for my wife and me, and maybe even free airfare from the West Coast. Am I being realistic? Thanks in advance for your responses! BTW, I play 98.9% deuces wild. banananose_89117, I know that my play doesn't transfer. I meant; how much can I expect if I go to a Strip casino and play at my normal duration and level? After playing poker for about 6 months I have lost about 2000 dollars and I feel sick now. I felt that I was in control of my life until I started playing poker. Now I really want to receive that 2000 dollars back and just quit playing but it seems as if I am in this vicious cycle which just doesnt seem to end. Please help me. I really want to be successful in my life and not by finding some short route to success. I believe I am a very good student and am doing really well in my studies but just cant receive over the money that i have lost in playing this card game. Any help would be appreciated. ok, heres my question, 2 people have the same hand. Flush ace high. but one has a queen, the other a 10. Do they split the pot because they both have flush ace high, or do you go to the next card???? I always thought it was split at that point. we werent playing hold em, five card. does that make a difference when theres no community cards?

Open Question: Gambling when your a cop?

OK I'm a criminal justice major hoping to become a cop. I've have a question concerning gambling and whether or not it can affect getting hired. I play poker (Texas Holdem) pretty frequently, and occasionally play tournaments with cash prizes. This could be considered gambling, could it hurt my chances of getting hired as a cop? I don't have a gambling problem, in fact I mostly only play for the fun of it, but I do make money from it too. Once I'm hired as a cop, can I still play these money tournaments in my free time? I'm willing to quit playing the money games, but I wouldn't want to quit playing altogether. I do like being able to supplement my income with poker winnings.

Resolved Question: Relationship trouble.?

Here is the story; Yesterday I was playing cards with a girl whom i like and her pal in my backyard. I had called my pal to go too the gym and workout and told him I would be ready in an hour. 20 minutes into the hour I called and canceled. About an hour and a half later my pal invites himself and 3 other friends of mine over to swim. It turns out he was just joking because he knew i had a girl over and he was just breaking my balls. 20 minutes later he invited himself over to play poker. I told my friends after the gym to call me to chill somewhere (not my place) because it would have been rude to force the girls to leave. I then put him on hold, and told the girls my friends wanted to arrive play poker, but I didn't want them to ruin our game. For some reason my pal thinks I am not putting bros b4 hoes. He was upset that I had to ask for their permission, but it wasn't really that way. i was merely hinting at them to leave. Now hes really pissed off... Thoughts?
